Watch and learn how to make Rajma at home from our chef Smita Deo on Ruchkar Mejwani. <br /> <br />Rajma is a healthy and nutritious Punjabi vegetarian main course recipe that is prepared with kidney beans (rajma) and onion - tomato gravy. This is a simple curry that goes best with steamed rice. <br /> <br />Ingredients: <br /> <br />2 tbsp Oil <br />2 tbsp Ginger, chopped <br />2 tbsp Garlic, chopped <br />3 Onions, chopped <br />4 Tomatoes, chopped <br />1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder <br />2 tbsp Red Chilli Powder <br />2 tsp Coriander Seeds Powder <br />1 tsp Cumin Seeds Powder <br />1 tsp Garam Masala Powder <br />2 Cups Kidney Beans (Rajma), boiled <br />Salt to taste <br /> <br />Method: <br /> <br />- In a pan heat some oil. <br />- Add chopped ginger and garlic. Saute for a minute. <br />- Add chopped onions and mix well. Let the onions become golden brown. Then add tomatoes. Mix everything well. <br />- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander & cumin seeds powder. Mix well till it releases oil. <br />- Then add cooked kidney beans along with some water. <br />- Add salt and mix well. <br />- Add garam masala powder and give a stir. <br />- Cover it with a lid and let the rajma cook for 10 minutes. <br />- Serve this piping hot rajma with steamed rice.
